MELOPORT

Meloport - українська платформа про імпровізаційну музику, заснована у 2018 році.
Все почалося за рік до цього з нашої зустрічі - піаністки Катерини Зяблюк та фотографа Олексія Карповича - у вирі київського джазового світу, в якому ми були активно задіяні, кожен у своєму « ешелоні ». Ми обидва слідкували за всіма новинками імпровізаційної музики, тож у нас виникла ідея створити блоги, ділитися музикою та розмовами з музикантами. Статті, описи, запитання, аналітика - на той час це був незвіданий простір, а ідеї, що виникали, не мали багато аналогів в українському медіапросторі. Нам довелося починати з нуля.

Першу поїздку ми запланували на осінь 2017 року, на фестиваль Jesień Jazzowa (після смерті трубача Томаша Станка фестиваль отримав його ім’я). Це було схоже на виїзд на багатосмугову автомагістраль одразу після іспиту з водіння - ми записали наші перші інтерв’ю з хедлайнерами того року. Курт Розенвінкель, Кріс Поттер, Девід Бірейєс, Амброз Акінмусірі - розмови з ними згодом потрапили в наші соціальні мережі та на сайт, який ми розробили у 2018 році.

Наша назва поєднує в собі особливу увагу до мелодії, того, що йде паралельно з життям і над чим ми часто не маємо контролю (« melo »), і місця, куди ведуть дороги з усього світу, де панує динамічний вир культур і ментальностей (« port »). Однак ми встановили чіткі правила - це має бути місце, яке формує традицію, особливо в написанні, прослуховуванні та здоровому спілкуванні між музикантами і слухачами. Від самого початку ми були зосереджені на розвитку українського середовища та промоції українських музикантів. Завдяки цьому діалогу ми створюємо аудиторію, зацікавлену в музиці, яка ґрунтується на взаємній підтримці. І найголовніше - головною перевагою завжди має бути якість, а не кількість.

Після низки яскравих подій - фестивалів у Польщі, Україні та Данії, серії імпровізаційних сетів Meloport Loft на непередбачуваних київських майданчиках, які здебільшого були організовані нами, співзасновниками, настав період вимушеної тиші. З початком пандемії коронавірусу ми намагалися самотужки пристосувати наше бажання ділитися музикою до реалій часу. Виїжджати за кордон на фестивалі та конференції вже не було можливості, тому ми зосередилися на створенні плейлистів, інформативних статтях та дистанційних інтерв’ю.
Коли ми відчули, що можемо повернутися до активної роботи, почалася повномасштабна війна росії проти України.

Було чітке усвідомлення, що все змінилося назавжди. Здавалося, що всі наші плани на розвиток і майбутнє зруйновані. Ми були в різних країнах і, відповідно, наші стани були поляризовані : з одного боку, музика рятувала нас своєю присутністю, надавала сенс тому, що ми робили, а з іншого боку, була повна нездатність її сприймати. Це був стан двох крайнощів - мовчання і заціпеніння, криків відчаю і гніву - ніби єдине тіло розірване на дві частини, які не можна зібрати назад, але потрібно мобілізуватися для простих дій - безпеки, допомоги і протистояння.
З початком повномасштабної війни гинуть наші друзі та знайомі, місця, де ми збиралися, зруйновані або покинуті. Людей розкидало по різних містах і країнах, і на довгий час все ніби завмерло.
З перших днів ми відчули підтримку і солідарність європейської музичної спільноти, організаторів фестивалів, музикантів і журналістів. Серед них був і Citizen Jazz. Про нас дедалі частіше згадували за кордоном - наприклад, у рамках співпраці з Українським інститутом ми мали можливість представляти платформу на шоукейсі Jazzahead !, робити огляди подій та налагоджувати нові контакти.
Під час цьогорічного шоукейсу обговорювалася ідея спеціального випуску Meloport у французькому виданні Citizen Jazz. Робота над ним триває з кінця весни. Ця співпраця дає нам надію на те, що ми нарешті одужуємо і незабаром зможемо більше розповісти про імпровізаційну сцену під час війни, як в Україні, так і за її межами.
Ми можемо сказати, що ми є, ми з України, і нам є що запропонувати світові - нашу культуру, музику, опір, силу і дух.

CITIZEN JAZZ

Журнал Citizen Jazz, заснований у 2001 році, послідовно виступає за відкриті кордони, циркуляцію музики та артистів, і вже давно працює над просуванням європейської, а не національної сцени.
Як давній член групи, що об’єднує європейські джазові видання, журнал сприяє обміну та співпраці на наднаціональному рівні. Через цю організацію ми познайомилися з « Мелопортом », його українським аналогом. Ми засмучені і стурбовані тим, що видання журналу припинилося через російські бомбардування.
Ми із захопленням згадуємо редакцію газети Libération, яка після нападу на газети Charlie Hebdo відкрила свої двері для редакцйної команди, щоб дати їм можливість випустити номер у розпал труднощів.

Цей номер доніс до читачів гучне послання : ви не можете змусити нас замовкнути. У справжньому дусі непокори ми запропонували команді « Мелопорту » створити унікальне видання замість звичайного « Citizen Jazz », яке б виходило під час нинішнього конфлікту. Цей жест підкреслив би, що навіть найменший шепіт джазу не буде заглушений деспотичною силою російської влади, і обидві команди працювали разом дистанційно та шукали партнерів-однодумців, які поділяли б їхню пристрасть до справи.

Анна Сарвіра - ілюстраторка, кураторка та арт-директорка з Києва, народилася 1986 року в Україні.
Закінчила Національну академію образотворчого мистецтва та архітектури.
Двічі входила до списку 75 найкращих ілюстраторів світу на Болонському дитячому книжковому ярмарку (2017, 2019), була номінована на виставку Nami Concourse Exhibition, Південна Корея у 2018 році, а також була резидентом Празького центру громадянського суспільства в Кишиневі та Празі у 2018 році, Internationales Blderbuchfestival (Німеччина) у 2017 році, Gaude Polonia у 2013 році.
Співпрацювала з ЮНІСЕФ, Музеєм сучасного мистецтва Нью-Йорка, Гете-Інститутом, Британською Радою, Жіночим ООН, Coca-Cola, Penguin Books, Blue Rabbit Publishing, Benchmark Education, Glowberry Books, Люта Справа, Republik, Hohe Luft, Європейською Комісією, журналом The Economist, Datum. Роботи Анни активно виставляються в Україні, Німеччині, Португалії, Польщі, Угорщині, Грузії, Італії, Японії, Іспанії, Франції, Швеції, Фінляндії, Південній Кореї, Канаді та США.

AJC та Europe Jazz Network були одразу ж залучені як партнери.
Польський джазовий журнал Donos Kulturalny співпрацював з Meloport та Citizen Jazz над цим виданням.
Український інститут у Франції забезпечив переклад текстів з української на французьку мову.

Український інститут у Франції ініціював та надав часткову фінансову підтримку для організації спеціальної презентації видання Meloport та джазового концерту (15 грудня) у тісному партнерстві з Чеським Центром в Парижі, FICEP та його чудовим фестивалем Jazzycolors.

Без щедрої та постійної підтримки цих партнерів номеру « WE INSIST ! » напевно ніколи б не побачило світ.

Український інститут
Український інститут підтримав проект спеціального випуску Meloport на платформі журналу Citizen Jazz від самого початку. Нам було зрозуміло, що голоси українських музикантів мають бути почуті, що їх не може змусити замовкнути війна.
Працюючи над цим проектом, ми зрозуміли, що написане слово має бути доповнене звуками і ритмами, має бути почуте у фізичному просторі. Саме тому ми запропонували організувати концерт джазу та солідарності, який був підтриманий двома журналами, а також нашими чудовими партнерами, зокрема, Паризьким театром та компанією Ficep, яка зробила концерт « WE INSIST ! » головною подією свого джазового фестивалю. " став головною подією фестивалю Jazzycolors.

Асоціація Jazzé Croisé
Протягом останніх 30 років AJC працює над просуванням джазу в Європі та встановленням міцних, довгострокових професійних відносин між Францією та багатьма європейськими країнами. Підтримка цього видання і цього культурного мосту між Францією та Україною зараз є більш ніж необхідною для нас.

Europe Jazz Network
Як EJN, мережа, що об’єднує майже 200 фестивалів, концертних майданчиків та організацій, що підтримують творчу музику в Європі та за її межами, ми дуже раді підтримати цю важливу ініціативу Meloport та Citizen Jazz. За останні кілька років ми налагодили багато плідної співпраці з нашими українськими колегами, особливо з Українським інститутом. Це включає в себе список українських артистів, які можуть виступати на заходах солідарності, опублікований одразу після початку війни, а також український розділ нашого ресурсу « Джазова панорама », доступний на нашому веб-сайті. Нещодавно ми були дуже раді підтримати організацію першого « зеленого туру » EJN по концертних майданчиках України, який відбудеться у квітні 2024 року. Ми вітаємо всіх партнерів з цим спільним виданням журналу, чудовим прикладом транскордонної співпраці заради миру та конкретним способом підтримки артистів і музичних професіоналів в Україні в той час, коли це дуже потрібно.

Donos Kulturalny
Польща та Україна мають багато спільного. Починаючи з їхньої спільної - не завжди легкої - історії. Останні часи дозволили нам поглибити наше взаємне захоплення і дружбу, співпрацювати, допомагати і підтримувати один одного. Останнє є особливо важливим перед обличчям російського вторгнення та війни, що триває. Тому ми намагаємося допомагати у різний спосіб - іноді невеликими, як ці тексти. Вони є нашим голосом для України, а також для цікавої, вартісної музики.

FICEP / Jazzycolors
FICEP пишається тим, що має відношення до цієї культурної події, яка дає голос українським музикантам і журналістам - і допомагає у будь-який спосіб.
Минулого року Jazzycolors, фестиваль FICEP, вже приймав талановитих українських музикантів, і завдяки Citizen Jazz (давньому медіа-партнеру Jazzycolors) та Meloport ми зможемо представити деяких з них знову, наприкінці нашої міжнародної програми. У Jazzycolors завжди буде місце для культури України, яка вже багато років є членом FICEP.
Нам дуже сподобалася ця ідея солідарності - чудовий спосіб завершити рік і наш фестиваль.

MELOPORT

Meloport is a Ukrainian platform about improvisational music that was founded in 2018.
It all started a year before with our meeting - pianist Kateryna Ziabliuk and photographer Oleksii Karpovych - in the midst of the Kyiv jazz world, in which we were actively involved, each in our own « echelon ». Both of us were following all the new happenings in improvised music, so we came up with the idea to start blogs, share music and conversations with musicians. Articles, descriptions, questions, analytics - it was an uncharted space at the time, and the ideas that emerged did not have many analogues in the Ukrainian media space. We had to start from scratch.

We planned our first trip in autumn 2017, to the Jesień Jazzowa festival (after the death of trumpeter Tomasz Stanko, the festival was named after him). It was like driving onto a multi-lane highway right after a driving test - we recorded our first interviews with that year’s headliners. Kurt Rosenwinkel, Chris Potter, David Virelles, Ambrose Akinmusire - conversations with them later ended up on our social media and website, which we developed in 2018.

Our title’s name combines special attention to melody, something that runs parallel to life and over which we often have no control (« melo »), and a place where roads lead from all over the world, where a dynamic whirlpool of cultures and mentalities reigns (« port »). However, we have established clear rules - it must be a place that forms a tradition, especially in writing, listening and healthy communication between musicians and listeners. From the very beginning, we have been focused on the development of the Ukrainian environment and the promotion of Ukrainian musicians. Through this dialogue, we create an audience interested in music that is based on mutual support. And most importantly, the main advantage should always be quality, not quantity.

After a series of exciting events - festivals in Poland, Ukraine, and Denmark - a series of Meloport Loft improvisational sets in unpredictable Kyiv venues - which were mostly organised by us, the co-founders, a period of forced silence has come. Since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, we have been trying to adjust our desire to share music to the realities of the time on our own. It was no longer possible to travel abroad for festivals and conferences, so we focused on creating playlists, informative articles, and remote interviews.
When we felt that we could resume active work, Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine broke out.

There was a clear realisation that everything had changed forever. It seemed that all our plans for development and the future had been destroyed. We were in different countries and, accordingly, our states were polarised ; on the one hand, music saved us with its presence, gave meaning to what we were doing, and on the other hand, there was a complete inability to perceive it. It was a state of two extremes - silence and numbness, cries of despair and anger - as if a single body was torn into two parts that you cannot put back together, but you have to mobilise for simple actions - safety, help and opposition.
Since the beginning of the full-scale war, our friends and acquaintances have been killed, the places where we used to gather have been destroyed or abandoned. People were scattered to different cities and countries, and for a long time, everything seemed to stand still.
From the very first days, we felt support and solidarity from the European music community, festival organisers, musicians, and journalists. Citizen Jazz was among them. We were mentioned more and more often abroad - for example, as part of our cooperation with the Ukrainian Institute, we had the opportunity to represent the platform at the Jazzahead ! showcase, review events and establish new contacts.
The idea of a special issue of Meloport in the French edition of Citizen Jazz was discussed during this year’s showcase. The work has been going on since the end of spring. This collaboration encourages us to hope that we are finally recovering and will soon be able to tell more about the improvisational scene during the war, both in Ukraine and abroad.
We can say that we are there, we are from Ukraine, and we have something to offer the world - our culture, music, resistance, strength and spirits.

CITIZEN JAZZ

Citizen Jazz, a magazine established in 2001, has consistently promoted open borders and the circulation of music and artists, and has long worked to promote the European rather than the national scene.
As a longstanding member of the group that unites European jazz publications, it has fostered exchanges and collaborations on a supra-national level. We were introduced to Meloport, its Ukrainian counterpart, through this organisation. We are saddened and concerned to see the magazine’s publication grinding to a halt because of the Russian bombings.
We recall with admiration the editorial team of Libération newspaper who, in the aftermath of the Charlie Hebdo attack, opened their doors to the Charlie Hebdo team to enable them to publish an issue in the midst of difficulty.

The issue conveyed a resounding message : you cannot silence us. In the true spirit of defiance, we suggested to the Meloport team that they create a unique edition to replace the usual Citizen Jazz, to be published during the current conflict. This gesture would emphasize that even the slightest whisper of jazz would not be silenced by the oppressive might of Russian power, and the two teams worked together remotely and sought out like-minded partners who shared their passion for the cause.

Anna Sariva was twice included in the list of 75 best illustrators of the world at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair (2017, 2019), shortlisted for Nami Concourse Exhibition, South Korea in 2018, and Resident at Prague Civil Society Center in Chisinau and Prague in 2018, Internationales Blderbuchfestival (Germany) in 2017, Gaude Polonia in 2013.
Worked with UNICEF, Museum of Modern Art New York, Goethe Institute, British Council, UN Women, Coca-Cola, Penguin Books, Blue Rabbit Publishing, Benchmark Education, Glowberry Books, Lyuta Sprava, Republik, Hohe Luft, European Commission, the Economist, Datum magazine. Anna’s works are actively exhibited in Ukraine, Germany, Portugal, Poland, Hungary, Georgia, Italy, Japan, Spain, France, Sweden, Finland, South Korea, Canada, and the USA.

PARTNERS

The Ukrainian Institute of Kyiv and its delegate Mariana Bondarenko played a key role in this ambitious project.
AJC and Europe Jazz Network were immediately involved as partners.
The Polish jazz magazine Donos Kulturalny collaborated with Meloport and Citizen Jazz on this edition.
The Ukrainian Institute in France ensured the translation of the texts from Ukrainian to French.

The Ukrainian Institute in France initiated and provided partial financial support for the organization of the special Meloport issue launch event and a jazz concert (December 15th) along a strong partnership with the Centre Tchèque de Paris, FICEP and its wonderful Jazzycolors festival.

Without the generous and sustained commitment of these partners, the We Insist ! edition would surely never have seen the light of day.

The Ukrainian Institute
The Ukrainian Institute supported the Meloport special issue project on the Citizen Jazz magazine platform right from the start. It was clear to us that the voices of the Ukrainian musicians had to be heard, that they could not be silenced by the war.
As we worked on this project, we realised that the written word had to be complemented by sounds and rhythms, and had to be heard in a physical space. That is why we proposed the organisation of a concert of jazz and solidarity, which was supported by the two magazines as well as our wonderful partners, notably the Centre tchèque de Paris and Ficep, which made the « WE INSIST ! » concert the highlight of its Jazzycolors festival.

Association Jazzé Croisé
For the past 30 years, AJC has been working to promote jazz in Europe and to establish strong, long-term professional relationships between France and many European countries. Supporting this publication and this cultural bridge between France and Ukraine is now more than essential in our eyes.

Europe Jazz Network
As EJN, the network of almost 200 festivals, venues and support organisations of creative music in Europe and beyond, we are very happy to support this important initiative by Meloport and Citizen Jazz. Over the last few years we have established many fruitful collaborations with our Ukrainian colleagues, especially with the Ukrainian Institute. This included a list of Ukrainian artists who can perform at solidarity events, published immediately after the war broke out, and the Ukrainian section of our Jazz Panorama resource available on our website. Lately, we have been very happy to support the organisation of the first EJN Green Pilot Tour around venues in Ukraine, which will take place in April 2024. We congratulate all the partners for this joint edition of the magazine, a great example of collaboration across borders for peace and a concrete way to support artists and music professionals in Ukraine at a time when this is greatly needed.

Donos Kulturalny
Poland and Ukraine have a lot in common. Beginning with their shared - not always easy - history. Recent times have allowed us to deepen our mutual fascination and friendship, to cooperate, help and support each other. The latter are particularly important in the face of the Russian invasion and the continuing war. So we try to help in many ways - sometimes small, like these texts. They are our voice for Ukraine but also for interesting, worthwhile music.

FICEP / Jazzycolors
FICEP is proud to be associated with this cultural event that gives a voice to Ukrainian musicians and journalists - and to help in any way possible.
Jazzycolors, the FICEP festival, already welcomed talented Ukrainian musicians last year, and thanks to Citizen Jazz (a longtime media partner of Jazzycolors) and Meloport, we’ll be able to present some of them again, at the end of our international program. There will always be a place in Jazzycolors for the culture of Ukraine, which has been a member of FICEP for many years.
We really liked this idea of solidarity - a great way to end the year and our festival.

MELOPORT

Meloport est une plateforme ukrainienne sur la musique improvisée qui a été fondée en 2018.
Tout a commencé un an auparavant par notre rencontre - la pianiste Kateryna Ziabliuk et le photographe Oleksii Karpovych - dans le milieu du jazz à Kyiv, dans lequel nous étions activement impliqués, chacun à notre « échelon ». Nous suivions tous deux les événements récents dans le domaine de la musique improvisée, et nous avons donc eu l’idée de créer des blogs, de partager de la musique et des conversations avec des musiciens. Articles, descriptions, questions, analyses - c’était un espace inexploré à l’époque, et les idées qui ont émergé n’avaient pas beaucoup de semblables dans l’espace médiatique ukrainien. Nous avons dû partir de zéro.

Nous avons planifié notre premier voyage à l’automne 2017, au festival Jesień Jazzowa (après la mort du trompettiste Tomasz Stanko, le festival a été baptisé en son honneur). C’était comme s’engager sur une autoroute à plusieurs voies juste après un examen de conduite - nous y avons enregistré nos premières interviews avec les têtes d’affiche de cette année-là. Kurt Rosenwinkel, Chris Potter, David Virelles, Ambrose Akinmusire - les conversations avec eux se sont retrouvées plus tard sur nos médias sociaux et notre site web, que nous avons développé en 2018.

Le nom de notre titre combine une attention particulière à la mélodie, quelque chose qui va de pair avec la vie et sur laquelle nous n’avons souvent aucun contrôle (« melo »), et un lieu où les routes conduisent du monde entier, où règne un tourbillon dynamique de cultures et de mentalités (« port »). Cependant, nous avons établi des règles claires : ce doit être un lieu qui forge une tradition, notamment d’écriture, d’écoute et de bonne communication entre les musiciens et les auditeurs. Dès le début, nous nous sommes concentrés sur le développement de l’environnement ukrainien et la promotion des musiciens ukrainiens. Grâce à ce dialogue, nous avons créé un public intéressé par la musique, qui repose sur un soutien mutuel. Et surtout, le principal atout est la qualité et non la quantité.

Après une série d’événements passionnants - des festivals en Pologne, en Ukraine et au Danemark - une série de concerts d’improvisation Meloport Loft dans des lieux improbables de Kyiv - qui ont été principalement organisés par nous, les co-fondateurs, une période de silence forcé s’est installée. Depuis le début de la pandémie de coronavirus, nous avons essayé d’adapter notre désir de partager la musique aux réalités du moment. Il n’était plus possible de voyager à l’étranger pour les festivals et les conférences, nous nous sommes donc concentrés sur la création de playlists, d’articles informatifs et d’interviews à distance.

Lorsque nous avons eu l’impression que la situation s’améliorait, la guerre totale de la Russie contre l’Ukraine a éclaté. Nous avons réalisé que tout avait changé pour toujours. Il a semblé que tous nos projets de développement et d’avenir avaient été anéantis. Nous étions dans des pays différents et, par conséquent, nos états étaient différents ; d’une part, la musique nous sauvait par sa présence, donnait un sens à ce que nous faisions, et d’autre part, il y avait une incapacité totale à la percevoir. C’était un état de deux extrêmes - silence et engourdissement, cris de désespoir et de colère - comme si un seul corps était déchiré en deux parties que l’on ne peut pas recoller, mais qu’il faut mobiliser pour des actions simples - la sécurité, l’aide et l’opposition.
Depuis le début de la guerre, nos amis et nos connaissances ont été tués, les lieux où nous avions l’habitude de nous réunir ont été détruits ou abandonnés. Les gens ont été dispersés dans différentes villes et différents pays, et pendant longtemps, tout a semblé s’arrêter.

Dès les premiers jours, nous avons ressenti le soutien et la solidarité de la communauté musicale européenne, des organisateurs de festivals, des musiciens et des journalistes. Citizen Jazz en faisait partie. Nous avons été mentionnés de plus en plus souvent à l’étranger - par exemple, dans le cadre de notre coopération avec l’Institut ukrainien, nous avons eu l’occasion de représenter la plateforme lors du salon Jazzahead, de passer en revue des événements et d’établir de nouveaux contacts.

L’idée d’un numéro spécial de Meloport dans l’édition française de Citizen Jazz a été discutée lors du showcase de cette année. Le travail est en cours depuis la fin du printemps. Cette collaboration nous encourage à espérer que nous nous rétablissons enfin et que nous serons bientôt en mesure d’en dire plus sur la scène de l’improvisation pendant la guerre, tant en Ukraine qu’à l’étranger.
Nous pouvons dire que nous sommes là, que nous venons d’Ukraine et que nous avons quelque chose à offrir au monde - notre culture, notre musique, notre résistance, notre force et notre esprit.

CITIZEN JAZZ

Citizen Jazz, magazine créé en 2001, n’a cessé de promouvoir l’ouverture des frontières et la circulation de la musique et des artistes, et s’efforce depuis longtemps de promouvoir la scène européenne plutôt que la seule scène nationale.
Membre de longue date du groupe qui réunit les publications européennes de jazz, il a favorisé les échanges et les collaborations à un niveau supranational. C’est par l’intermédiaire de cette organisation que nous avons fait la connaissance de Meloport, notre homologue ukrainien. Nous sommes attristés et inquiets de voir la publication du magazine s’arrêter à cause des bombardements russes insensés.

Nous nous souvenons alors avec admiration de la rédaction du journal Libération qui, au lendemain de l’attentat contre Charlie Hebdo, a ouvert ses portes à l’équipe du magazine pour lui permettre de publier un numéro malgré les difficultés. Ce numéro a envoyé un message retentissant : vous ne pouvez pas nous faire taire !

Dans le même esprit de défi, nous avons proposé à l’équipe de Meloport de créer un numéro unique qui remplacerait l’habituel Citizen Jazz et qui serait publié en plein conflit. Ce geste soulignerait que même le moindre chuchotement de jazz ne serait pas réduit au silence par la puissance oppressive du régime russe. Les deux équipes ont collaboré à distance, à la recherche de partenaires partageant la même passion pour cette cause.

ANNA SARVIRA - Illustratrice, commissaire d’exposition et directrice artistique de Kyiv, née en 1986 en Ukraine.
Diplômée de l’Académie nationale des beaux-arts et de l’architecture.
Anna Sariva a figuré deux fois dans la liste des 75 meilleurs illustrateurs du monde à la Foire du livre pour enfants de Bologne (2017, 2019), a été présélectionnée pour l’exposition Nami Concourse, en Corée du Sud en 2018, et résidente au Centre de la société civile de Prague à Chisinau et à Prague en 2018, à l’Internationales Blderbuchfestival (Allemagne) en 2017, à la Gaude Polonia en 2013.
Elle a travaillé avec l’UNICEF, le Museum of Modern Art New York, le Goethe Institute, le British Council, ONU Femmes, Coca-Cola, Penguin Books, Blue Rabbit Publishing, Benchmark Education, Glowberry Books, Lyuta Sprava, Republik, Hohe Luft, la Commission européenne, The Economist, le magazine Datum. Les œuvres d’Anna sont activement exposées en Ukraine, en Allemagne, au Portugal, en Pologne, en Hongrie, en Géorgie, en Italie, au Japon, en Espagne, en France, en Suède, en Finlande, en Corée du Sud, au Canada et aux États-Unis.

L’Institut ukrainien de Kyiv et sa déléguée Mariana Bondarenko ont joué un rôle clé dans cet ambitieux projet.

L’AJC et l’Europe Jazz Network se sont immédiatement impliqués en tant que partenaires.

Le magazine de jazz polonais Donos Kulturalny a collaboré avec Meloport et Citizen Jazz pour ce numéro.

L’Institut ukrainien en France a assuré la traduction des textes de l’ukrainien vers le français.

L’Institut ukrainien en France a initié et apporté un soutien financier partiel à l’organisation de l’événement de lancement du numéro spécial de Meloport et d’un concert de jazz (15 décembre) dans le cadre d’un partenariat solide avec le Centre Tchèque de Paris, FICEP et son merveilleux festival Jazzycolors.

Sans l’implication généreuse et soutenue de ces partenaires, le numéro We Insist !, n’aurait sûrement pas pu voir le jour.

L’Institut Ukrainien
L’Institut ukrainien a soutenu le projet du numéro spécial de Meloport sur la plateforme du magazine Citizen Jazz dès le début. C’était évident pour nous que les voix des musiciennes et musiciens ukrainiens devaient être entendu·e·s, que la guerre ne pouvait pas les faire taire.
En travaillant sur ce projet, nous avons compris que les mots écrits devaient être complétés par les sons, les rythmes et devaient être entendus dans un espace physique. C’est pourquoi nous avons proposé l’organisation d’un concert de jazz et de solidarité qui a été soutenu par les deux revues ainsi que par nos merveilleux partenaires, notamment le Centre tchèque de Paris et le Ficep, qui a fait du concert « WE INSIST ! » le point d’orgue de son Festival Jazzycolors.

Association Jazzé Croisé
AJC oeuvre depuis 30 ans à la diffusion du jazz en Europe et à l’installation de relations professionnelles pérennes et fortes entre la France et de nombreux pays européens. Soutenir cette publication et ce pont culturel entre France et Ukraine est aujourd’hui plus qu’essentiel à nos yeux.

Europe Jazz Network
En tant que EJN, le réseau de près de 200 festivals, lieux et organisations de soutien à la musique créative en Europe et au-delà, nous sommes très heureux de soutenir cette importante initiative de Meloport et de Citizen Jazz. Ces dernières années, nous avons établi de nombreuses collaborations fructueuses avec nos collègues ukrainiens, en particulier avec l’Institut ukrainien. Nous avons notamment établi une liste d’artistes ukrainiens susceptibles de se produire lors d’événements de solidarité, publiée immédiatement après l’éclatement de la guerre, ainsi que la section ukrainienne de notre ressource Jazz Panorama, disponible sur notre site web. Dernièrement, nous avons été très heureux de soutenir l’organisation de la première EJN Green Pilot Tour en Ukraine, qui aura lieu en avril 2024. Nous félicitons tous les partenaires pour cette édition conjointe du magazine, un bel exemple de collaboration transfrontalière pour la paix et un moyen concret de soutenir les artistes et les professionnels de la musique en Ukraine à un moment où cela est grandement nécessaire.

Donos Kulturalny
La Pologne et l’Ukraine ont beaucoup en commun. À commencer par leur histoire commune, qui n’a pas toujours été facile. La période récente nous a permis d’approfondir notre fascination et notre amitié mutuelles, de coopérer, de nous aider et de nous soutenir mutuellement. Ces dernières sont particulièrement importantes face à l’invasion russe et à la guerre qui se poursuit. Nous essayons donc d’apporter notre aide de diverses manières, parfois modestes, comme ces textes. Ils sont notre voix pour l’Ukraine, mais aussi pour une musique intéressante et digne d’intérêt.

FICEP / Jazzycolors
Le FICEP est fier de pouvoir s’associer - et aider à la mesure de ses moyens - à cet événement culturel qui fait résonner la voix des musicien.ne.s et journalistes ukrainien.ne.s.
Jazzycolors, le festival du FICEP a déjà accueilli des musiciennes ukrainiennes de talent l’année dernière et, de manière inattendue, c’est grâce à Citizen Jazz (partenaire media de Jazzycolors depuis des années) et à Meloport que nous pouvons de nouveau en présenter, en clôture de notre programmation internationale. Il y aura toujours de la place à Jazzycolors pour la culture de l’Ukraine, membre du FICEP depuis des années.
Nous avons beaucoup aimé cette idée de Solidarité - une belle façon de terminer l’année et notre festival.
